Online Bird Identification
Got A Question?

Not sure what kind of bird is visiting your backyard? Welcome to our online bird identification. We have tips for identifying backyard birds or Let Our Reader's Help!

Grab your camera and send us a photo! One of our visitors will be sure to answer or help.

Got a question about your bird visitors? For example, Paula from Mission Viejo, CA asked about Doves And Rain:

"There is a pair nesting, however, we are getting rain and I am worried they don't have adequate protection. What can I do or should I stay clear?"

and Shirley from North Carolina answered:

Rain and nesting doves;

"If the mother is sitting on the nest, she will cover the chicks or eggs with her wings. If she is off the nest, try a high cover so as to protect them and not scare the mother. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do but watch and pray. Chicks do drown if not protected. This has been my experience. Good luck."
