Male Flicker at suet cake

We live in Western Washington and have flickers around all year. I love them. This is a photo of a male flicker at our suet cake the day before Thanksgiving. We also had a few inches of snow. The second photo is a female flicker hanging from our bird feeder that we fill with 'no waste bird seed' that looks mostly like shelled sunflower seeds. All birds seem to love it!

Isn't it amazing, how different the flickers look from all of their woodpecker cousins. Great photos and what a nice Thanksgiving meal for the Flickers. Thank you so much for sharing. I have information on shopping for suet feeders on this page.
