Yellow bird

by DB Young
(Utah)

I live in Central Utah, and shot this image at our backyard feeder where we mostly see house finches. It did not go to the feeder but landed close to it.

I have exhausted myself trying to find similar images on the net without success. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

DB Young

Yellow Bird
by: Anonymous

I believe it could be a (first year)Streaked Backed Oriole. In their first year of life they are very yellow. They also like nectar and fruit so that may be why they did not feed with the finches. I have several here and just got the name from a bird watcher. Hope this helps

Bullock's Oriole
by: Susan

Wow what a beautiful photo. That is a Bullock's Oriole. It has much more white in its wing than a Baltimore Oriole. Note the black eye line that connects with his black crown.

Have you heard his song? It is a mixture of whistles and harsh notes. They winter in Mexico.
