Woodpeckers

by Marcy
(Lakewood, Colo.)

This is the second year they have visited us and I am really amazed at the way they act. Each year I heard the pecking noise and saw the holes getting bigger. Then I noticed that their were two of them. One has some red the other not so much. Last year there were three babies, this year I think they only have two I think they each take turns guarding the babies. And boy do those kids squeal. They came in the beginning of May and today is June 2nd. Not sure how long they will be here but they sure are fun to watch
