Woodpecker?

by Marg

I just had a small bird come to my suet feeder. It had a very long thin beak. It's face and chest was white and it's back and a stripe from the top of its beak, over it's head and onto the rest of its back was dark greyish/black. Pecked like a woodpecker and flew into our walnut trees and stayed vertical going up the trunk. Any idea what it is? I am in south-western ontario.
