Hi! Well we have some here that are so big! the holes they make in trees wow -- a very beautiful bird, but they love our sassafrase trees! Just wondering what kind they are, they do have a red head.

Answer
Theresa, it is likely a red-headed or red-bellied woodpecker. Send us a photo if you can.
