white head sparrow
by: Olga K

Just spotted one in my yard in Highland Falls, NY. First time ever seeing this bird. Is it a sparrow? I think its a Leucistic White Head Sparrow. www.youtube.com/watch?v=52cflIKtNko

I have two of those!
by: Leann

I have had one of those birds in my yard since December of last year. Another one just showed up yesterday. The first one only eats seeds from the ground and the second one eats from the ground and both feeders. I have black oil sunflower seeds in one feeder and wild bird food in another. I live in East Texas. I have named the first one Baby Eagle. Don't know what I'm gonna name the second one. So cute!

I was trying to identify the white headed finch I saw in western Pa when I saw this one. I will upload my picutre if I can figure out how that is done. Mine was haging out with goldfinches.

White Headed Bird
by: Judy Miller

I have one too, here in Michigan. It is not albino as it's eyes are not pink. I think it is a condition called Leucistic--something like that--a lack of pigment on it's head. It is very cool and I think--a Finch--same markings on back. I also have an all white Sparrow.

I have one too in MN. Did you figure out what it is?
It is not seen alone, usually 3 are seen and they hop up the tree like a crreeper.

House Finch
by: Rick

It looks like you have a partial albino house finch based upon the other bird at the back of the feeder.

House Finch?
by: Hayley

it may be a house finch that has been born with white feathers on it's head/part albino. I am not sure if this is right though. =)

It is grey with a long beak and a white ring around it's neck. The bird is about the size of a dove and I live in Florida near the Georgia line.
