Hi, it depends on the size off your bird. If it is small it could be a junco, a black-capped chickadee or any number of other species. The eastern towhee is a rust color. You have given us a very brief description and it is nearly impossible to give you a positive ID without more specific info. you can go to these sites to ID it yourself:
