Where Have My Hummingbirds Gone?

I love hummingbirds and have been working to attract them to my Northern California garden by planting flowers they like and maintaining several feeders. I have been delighted to find several enjoying themselves here over the fall and winter. However for the past several days I have not seen one and the feeders are still filled wth nectar. I am wondering if the might disappear for awhile when they are mating? If so would it be this time of year in my area?

I hope they return soon.
