Immature Mississippi kite??

Immature Mississippi kite??

We live in south Florida and this bird appeared on our fence this morning. Is it an immature Mississippi kite?

Comment

I believe so. Here is a photo of a juvenile Mississippi Kite;

possibly Coopers Hawk
by: Anonymous

I have never seen a Kite up north here in Canada.
I am inclined to beleive this is a Coopers hawk.
The yellow legs and what looks like a long wings
and immature brown eyes comes close to an immature. Also these accipters really check out back yards for feeding birds on which they prey on heavily.
