What to do about a Mourning Dove building a nest on my balcony?

by Skylar
(Dallas, TX)

Hello from Dallas, Texas!

My name is Skylar and I woke up this morning to a beautiful Mourning Dove and her baby (babies?) happily living in a nest on my apartment balcony. It has averaged 100 degrees+ in the last month and am concerned with her and what happens when I tell my Apartment Manager about them.

What do I do now?

Please contact me via here and my email below.

WHY are you telling the manager ??? NEW
by: Margaret Mariam

If you are concerned about the doves' well being leave a shallow bowl of water in the shade. Put it out, quietly, at night. Once the babies are fledged the parents will leave the nest and you can take it down. PLEASE leave it alone for the next 4-6 weeks.
