Saw this bird in a tree in my yard. Can you
tell me what kind it is? It makes a very loud
noise.

Great shot! Is the sound a loud whistle? Possibly a migrating Upland Sandpiper.

Yellow-crowned Night Heron

Gigi, you may well be right. The juvenile Yellow-Crowned Night Heron looks like this bird.

yes it does have features
of a heron but does not
seem to have the same beak!!!!!
I was looking in one of my books
and it looks like a
Yellow Crowned Night Heron
Check it out and let me know
if that's what it is????

WHAT KIND OF BIRD

doesn't look like the gray herons we have on the
beach. he makes a loud screeching sound. i have
never seen a bird like this around here or in any
zoo.
