judy from seattle,
thankyou so much for your feed back. i went and yahoo'd "cedar waxwing" and was able to see many of veriety of photos of the cedar waxwing species. and yes that was the little fellow who crashed into my picture window. since then my lady and i have took on a real passion of enjoyment of wild bird life! so i'll close on the note that we wish the fellow is doing okay, and thankyou once more Judy from seattle!

The only bird that comes to my mind that fits that description is a juvenile Cedar Waxwing. I am going to post a photo of one that I found on the web for you. Let us know if it looks like your bird.
