What is this Phoenix bird?

by Susan
(Phoenix, AZ USA)

While visiting Phoenix I keep seeing a gray bird with a brown breast and some light markings on the throat. I've spotted it running, hopping along the ground - the legs are longer than a Robin's. It seems to be about the size of a Thrasher (we have Brown Thrashers back home in SC). I haven't been able to get a picture and can't find anyone who knows what it is.
