What is this bird?

Medium sized dark grey with upside down red triangle on back of neck. Looked like it may have a lighter chest with black spots. On my suet feeder.

by: Brook

Hi Judi,

It is a Gilded Northern Flicker which is in the woodpecker family, if you can see it when it is flight, the under feather are yellow. The yellow flicker is in the east and the red flicker is in the west.

They love suet and their natural diet is ants.
