What is this bird?

Not so much as great bird story but a bird question. Saw a bird yesterday that I didn't recognize in a pine tree. It was the size of a robin but with a sleeker body. Very dark brown head with black streaks, the same covering the back but the belly was a slightly dull reddy/orange. It wasn't a rose breasted grosbeak. It had quite a pretty song, which is what attracted my attention. Any ideas?
