What bird is this?

by Debra Smith
(NC)

It looks to be a speckled bird. It was sitting in an Oak tree. It didn't come to the bird feeders. I think it was in a flock, and lost the flock, as it was looking around for them. Then it flew off. I have never seen this bird before. I live in N.C. in the foothills.
