what bird is this???

Hi, If there is something wrong with the bird you need to take it to an Audubon Society or Wildlife center. Most likely your friend may have stolen the bird out from under the care of it's mom. Young birds like yours are old enough to leave the nest but the parents continue to feed them. It would be best for the bird if you put it back where your friend found it and wait for a day or so to see if the parents show up to care for it. If the parents don't return you need to take it to a center trained to raise and treat birds. The law states that it is illegal to keep and/or care for wildlife.

Baby Starling??
by: John

Based on your picture the size, shape of the bill and plumage appear to resemble that of a young Starling.
