What Bird is This?

by Bob
(North Fort Myers, FL)

In our 12 years in southwest Florida we've never seen this bird before. Can't find it in Peterson or on the www. It appears to be a migratory water fowl, but we're not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!!
