what is this bird????

Hi just wondering if anyone can tell me what the breed is they have made a nest in amongst the old palm frond bases which we have trimmed .... they are medium sized a dark grey/black colour with a beautiful dark blue on the wings and the same almost teal colour on their beaks aswell, there are 2 babies in the nest and the mother and father will swoop and chase off anything that goes near the nest, including black crows twice their size...my kids would love to know what they are if you could help me out!!!!
