Watching for Woody

by Cindy Arko
(Georgia ,USA )

I have a pair of beautiful woodpeckers here in Paulding County Georgia that fly between my two acres and 300 acres across the street from me.Early one morning I heard pecking then noticed bark flying off a pine tree in my woods. I ran to get my binoculars.I could see a huge woodpecker in my Woods. Soon after I realized it was a pair when I could hear them communicating. One morning while having my coffee, I could hear pecking in the distance,so with my walking stick I started to peck back. Well believe it or not the pecking sounds seemed to get closer. It was amazing. It's been 2 years now and I continue to see this seasonal pair.......I'll be Watching for Woody ..Cindy
