Virginia S.

by Virginia S
(Las Vegas, NV)

I am absolutely heartbroken that a beautiful, healthy, bird flew into my patio door on Saturday, and died a few minutes later. It is a sight and sound I hope to never hear again. I had some difficulty identifying the bird at first, I've never seen one in my yard before. I think it's a Yellow Breasted Chat, but am posting a picture hoping someone can confirm.

I'm also hoping you can give me some suggestions on how I can make my door look less like a reflection so this never happens again.

Poor little thing. Yes, that is a Yellow-breased Chat. Sadly, thousands and thousands of birds die every year, from window strikes. And thousands more, while migrating, fly into office towers. You can read some prevention tips here;Window Bird Strike Prevention
