USVI bird we saw today

by Kay Bricksin
(USVI)

Larger, heavier and taller than a pigeon, all black, yellow beak, short white tail with bluish legs on ST John walking in a plush garden at the Westin complex. Body style was like that of a pigeon but with longer legs and the yellow beak was a bit longer.

I have been on this island winters for ten yrs and never saw this bird before.

It seemed quite content

Wish I had a photo.....RRR
