Unknown solid grey bird

by Sarah
(Central Virginia)

The bird is about the size of a robin but more lean. When I get a good look at it, it appears to be solid grey in color. Almost like a dusty black. It doesn't sit still for long which has made it impossible to capture in a picture. Its song is absolutely beautiful, it always seems to change. And it likes to sing in the early morning (from 1 am on) occasionally. Can anyone help?

Check out the "Cat Bird". It sounds like it may be what you have partially described.

Nope.

It's not grey grey. It is more black less grey. But we believe it to be a rusty blackbird. It's song is lovely and similar to what we have.

Mockingbird
by: Judy-Seattle

I believe that your grey bird may be a Mockingbird.
