I took this photo on the 5th June 2008 at Clearwater, BC Canada. We were told at the restaurant that they were Calliope, but on checking in the bird book (Kaufman) and on the Internet that does not appear to be correct.

There was also another bird at the feeder that I also cannot identify.

That is a Rufous Hummingbird. Sadly, they leave British Columbia in July and start heading south to Mexico. The other bird looks like a sparrow

    A relative went to HB class. They found it is safe and more effective to use 2 water to 1 sugar. I use 4 cups of boiling water into 2 cups sugar.
