I saw new bird today by my feeder that I can't identify in my book. It was gray like a cat bird, had a beak like a woodpecker, was about the size of those birds, and had speckled sides just below the where the wing sit. The speckles looked like those on a starling. The belly, back and head were all gray. It flew away before I could get more details or a picture.

Found pecking at the ground. What stood out the most was its white beak with a horizontAL stripe of yellow. Its body was black and white flecks.

We moved last year from Nashville to 20 miles west of the city. Was delighted to have 3 rose breasted grosbeaks at our feeder the other day (Apr 20, 2018)
