two feathers
by joanne akins-dull
(cumberland,md)
In 2007 my father passed away unexpected, he was 74 and lived in his home state of Arizona. He took great interest in Native American culture...I collected all his belongings and kept them in storage...well today I decided after 5 years, i would look through some of his things...In one of his Indian books, I found feathers in the middle of book...It was quite wonderful. He picked them up from somewhere and stuffed them in the book. I looked up the feathers and found it was of the Mourning Dove. I find meaning in this. All these years I kept my thoughts of losing my father deep inside...not fully mourning his passing. This really is quite amazing for me...thanks you-JoAnne
