too late for hummingbirds

our daughter gave us a lovely hummingbird feeder awhile back. at that time we were traveling in a motorhome year round and did not have a good place to hang it. we have recently gave up our nomadic life and have moved into a house. i hung my feeder out but no hummingbirds, unless they have morfed into bees. am i too late for them? have they already left northern colorado? it is the middles of august.
