Tiny bird.

it is very tiny, brownish it is not a nuthatch it is smaller, it pecks on dead trees like a woodpecker, I am in SC

Not a nuthatch, I have lots of those, this bird is smaller than a sparrow, just barely larger than a humming bird

If it's not a creeper, try looking up Nuthatches. Some varieties are grey and have short tails.

its not a creeper, this bird is almost grey and has a little sawed off tail close to the body
