Thrush looking bird?

by Bethany

I was looking out of my window the other day, to see a bird a little smaller than a blackbird. At first I thought it was a thrush, but the markings seemed a little different as did the colour of the bird. From the head, until about half way down the bird, was a sandy brown, then the other half of the bird was a dark brown/black. Also, it had was speckled down the back of its neck, and a bit at the front of the bird, but down the front it was mostly larger chunks of pattern.. Any clues as to what this bird might be?
