I have a playful robin-like bird with red breast and white markings on neck & head and back. Hangs out with robins in the pasture and looks for worms - don't know what it is?

I think your strange bird actually is a robin. It is lacking pigment in some of its feathers. Ornithologists call this condition leucism. It is not very common, so enjoy your rather rare luecistic robin.
