Tarwheat! Blackheaded, White Belly, Golden Wings

by Jeff
(Tucker, GA, USA)

Hi! In Tucker,GA. We have a bird that has a black head, white belly and can spread a white/black feather mixture with its tail and has golden/yellow wings. It makes the sound "Tarwheat!". We heard it long before actually seeing it. Just the "Tarwheat!". It is quite agressive and will sit on our 8' fence or in a nippon holly tree and dive into the azaleas to retrieve something and will challenge the brown trashers. Wish I had a picture, but the bird moves a lot.
