Swiss Lard Muesli Mix

by Darran Cafferty
(Canterbury, UK)

1 500g box of Granola or Muesli

1 500g brick of Lard
100g sugar

Melt the lard and mix in the Sugar and Granola/Muesli mix, then get a few Yoghurt pots and fill 3/4 with the mix with a bit of string dangling in it with a few big knots so the mix has something to key to when it's gone solid. Put the pots in the Fridge over night then in the morning remove from pots and tie string to Tree or bird table, making sure it's out of the way of bloody Cats.

The Birds love this, esp Robins and Blue Tits.

Dear Durran,

There isn't any nutritional value to sugar and it dehydrates them.
Why do you add the sugar?
