Small spotted bird.

Small spotted bird.

He's a small spotted bird in Southern California. He's burrowing into a planter box in our front courtyard to keep warm. Wondering what kind of bird it is?

Winter wren NEW
by: Dave

Thank you very much for identifying this bird for us! We have never seen what he looks like because his head is always buried in the planter. Knowing what he is has made it so we can finally see what he looks like from pictures online. Thanks again!

He's a wren, probably a winter wren. They like to nest in planters and at the edge of a large planter (hidden under plant foliage).
