Spotted at NC beach


Does anyone know what kind of birds these are?

Beach birds

According to my bird book, they look like some kind of tern. It's hard to tell by the photo, but if the bill is black, they might be Sandwich Terns. If the bill is bright red, they are probably Caspian Terns. Anyway, look up Terns and see if you can find them.
