Speckled breasted bird - Outside of Calgary Alberta Can.

by Shae Deschenes

Rounded head, fluffy or perhaps puffed up. Speckled black spots on chest like a baby birds sometimes are. Red spots like rouge on cheeks and black stripes on his wings.

A bit of red on his head. Sits for ages. We have lots of feeders and melted water
run by a small motor. Have lots of birds as we feed them all year.. My Husband saw 3 of them the other day but I have only seen the one. It seems larger than a Robin and wider but he could as mentioned be puffed up from the cold. Also his eyes are larger and round than most birds I have seen.
Sorry, tried for a picture but my camera zoom is not that good. Will Try again.
Thanks for any help you can give
Shae
