So many Rose-breased Grosbeaks, I couldn't count

by randy

About 2 weeks ago, there were so many coming to the feeder, that I could'nt get a count. Not being familiar with my birds, I had to find out what they were. There were a lot of males, and I'm sure a lot of females.

Now they seem to be absent from my feeder. Could it be that they were migrating farther north? I am in southern Minnesota.

Randy,
I envy you having all those Grosbeaks. You are so fortunate. Why would all those Grosbeaks go even farther north?

Birds return each year to where they built their nests.
