snow white

by kimberly smith
(maine, usa)

We have a log home in Northern Maine and we get a lot of birds to our 1 feeder. Mostly Black capped Chickadees , but a lot of other birds also including woodpeckers.

Last winter I was sitting on our deck just relaxing and enjoying watching the birds on the feeder, when a Black capped Chickadee came right down and landed on my hand and just sat there looking at me. He wasn't afraid and stayed for a minute at least.

Since then it has happened four times after that and my husband thinks it is because they can sense that I love birds and now my nickname is "Snow White"
