Small Yellow Bird with Black Wings

by Donna Kazimir
(Marblehead, OH)

It looked very much like a male American Goldfinch. The size and shape of the body, the flatter head, the black wings are pretty much dead on. The bird was about 25 feet away from me, but I did not see the black on its head nor did I see any white in the black part of the wings. The tail was short, but I could not tell the color of it nor the beak.
