Small mysterious yellow bird (Might be american goldfinch?)

by Katie

Small yellow bird, looks like American goldfinch but not black wings or head. Has an orange beak with a blackish smudge and orange legs. I've seen it in my back yard but this is the first time i could take a picture.

HI, yes, this is a female Goldfinch. She could be a juvenile just out of the nest this year but it's hard to say from your picture.

I believe this is an immature male Goldfinch just molting into his adult plumage.
