Small flock of Dark-eyed Juncos

by Jacki Bencomo
(Dacono Colorado)

I have counted 8 Dark-eyed Juncos at my bird feeder... in fact it is a bird bath, platform styled feeder. This winter I wanted to continue to feed my goldfinches ... but decided not to use the socks. Instead I put the Nyjer seed on my back yard birdbath.

I love the sparrows and house finches and didn't care if they joined in the feast. Now I have Beautiful Juncos living in my spruce tree outside my kitchen window. The birds live here! And I can watch them from sun up to sun down.
