they like to huddle!

These tiny round brown birds gather on a tree near my kitchen window every day to preen and eat parts of the purple flowers. I don't know what kind they are. Anyone know?

The birds pictured are in San Francisco. The long-tailed titmouse is more common in Europe and Asia, no? Northern CA does have a Mediterranean climate so maybe there are some here.
