Red-bellied Woodpecker
Was seen having lunch on a small-medium tree trunk aprox. 8' off the ground.
The tree is situated along a busy street at the edge of a teacher's parking lot in Montreal, Quebec.
The precise location is at the yellow push-pin at center of image.

We live in the Midwest and have been seeing as many as ten flickers eating in my neighbors yard. I think they are eating grubs. I have never seen that

It is grey with a long beak and a white ring around it's neck. The bird is about the size of a dove and I live in Florida near the Georgia line.
