It looks like the hawk that comes in my backyard. I am in central Ohio. A Cooper Hawk? But there's no blue in any hawk I've ever seen.

unfortunately it was there for 30 seconds hence the rubbish picture, it was around 9 inches tall, colour seemed blueish, thats it I'm afraid. Just different from the usual seagulls !!

Yes, it is a bird of prey but the coloring and size are not detectable in your picture. It is a hawk but different species of hawks can be very difficult to ID. Can you say how big it was and describe it's coloring and markings?
