Sad Story---

Momma dove had two chicks. During a storm, one fell out of the nest and drowned. A couple of days later, we found the other chick on the ground but with no parents around. Fearing it would starve, I tried to feed it hummingbird water. Bad mistake! I recently found out that the Momma and Daddy both produce a type of milk by which they feed the young. Unbeknowns to me, the parents were watching, but the chick expired. The parents hung around for two days searching for the chick and finally gave up, but believe me, they mourned. The lesson, let nature take its course and don't interfere unless absolutely necessary.
