Rust colored, domestic bird-Memphis, TN

by Jean
(Memphis, TN)

The bird I am trying to identify has rust colored feathers with some darker markings on its head, back and tail. But its underside is differenct shades of gray. It is about the size of a robin. I throw wild bird seed out in my courtyard and these birds come to eat the seed. They are sparse in their visits. Not too many of them around, but I seem them at least once a day or so.
