Just at dusk I happened to look at one of my many feeders , and saw this AMAZING pair of black and white birds , unlike I had ever seen! At first I thought they were all black and white , with bars on the wings , and they were bigger than the cardinals at the feeders at the time. One was clinging to a tube type feeder, the other on a platform type . When it turned I saw the red triangular patch on the breast . I've NEVER seen this bird , and I have been hearing it's call for several days . Wondering " what IS that??? "
So glad I was able to identify it :)
I'm very excited to have attracted these two males with black oil sunflower seeds .
