Retired Electrician

While visiting my lady in Brighton, Michigan, got to see a Northern Flicker on the ground! I did not know what it was doing on the ground so long until researching and finding they love to eat ants with their long beak! This was the first time I had ever seen one so it was a treat! The bird was on the ground for well over a hour! We had an ice storm on the day we saw it but that did not stop it from eating!

wellll, maybe you've found a new hobby for your retiree days, that's what I've done. Congratulations :)

The flicker is a beautiful bird. I have a male who's been calling for a lady the last two weeks! Last year he called for way over a month and nearly broke my heart.
