Red-breasted Sapsucker

For the past two years I have been seeing horizontal rows of holes in the trunk of our backyard Ash tree in Renton, WA.

Online research told me it was a Red-breasted Sapsucker Finally, I caught the culprit at work! I even captured him on my camcorder;

Sapsucker in Ash tree

Great video - Congrats for catching the little guy in action! I've had one of his relatives visiting my Ash tree over the years too! (we are on the western side of the Cascade Mountains. in OR)
