Red Bellied Woodpecker at our house

We were watching the many birds that were flying to our bird feeder eating the black sunflower seeds. We often do have the Downy Woodpecker visit but this time we weren't sure what kind of woodpecker we had. We took pictures and researched it and found that it was indeed a Red Bellied Woodpecker.

A cool bird, I have them all year here in the florida panhandle. The picture you posted, is of a male. Females only have red on the very top of their head.

They love chunky peanutbutter that I put on a hanging peace of 4x4.
The titmice, cardinals, mockingbirds, chikadees, goldfinches, and pinewarblers love it too.
